Ok, so this is February and our weather is "officially" supposed to be SNOW this time of year but instead of that, we are experiencing RAIN of amazing proportions! Get this, we had almost an inch of rain since 11:30 AM this morning! - in February! Check out my weather station display of the rain totals (it's the RED line in picture above!) Sad.... So, check out this video of the rain just POURING down our front driveway and then watch the nice lightning flash at the end of the video - 59 seconds into the video (the doggies loved that one!) I hope you are dryer than we are... I'm trying to remember that rain is a blessing for the plants and hope that the temperatures will return to "normal" so we can have a bit more snow before I must give it up for the long hot summer! :O) Ok, so check out (below) my weather station's "weather icon" - the photo it picks to reflect the "theme" of today's weather! LOL
And last but not least - check out our lightning in this video! Ouch!

That's quite a rain coming down! I see the webcam is up tonight for a while. That video really shows how much water is running down the drive and street! Great lightening flash too!!! Our weather has been totally wacky too. 70 degrees one day then the threat of snow the next day. However, I think you are getting all of our rain. : ) Hope you are having a good week otherwise.
Looks like your lightning got worse from the second video! Good night to stay inside. Oddly enough we ended up getting the same thing about 4 in the morning. Did things dry out today?
Have you got that basement pump working?!
Yup - it was a real fun evening! I was just grateful that no sources of water found their way into my home (as best I can tell). So far my two basement pumps are ok (one for ground water, one for water softener, humidifer and a/c. Ha ha. Hope it stays that way! Today we are quite dry most places. There are a lot of lawns flooded here and there but suprisingly mine is not as bad as usual. "Camp Swampy" out by the weather station only has a relatively small puddle occupying the grass there right now. Ah the joys of home ownership!
Just think if that had all been snow!
We are supposed to get two inches of snow starting late today. I will believe it when I see it! It is 41 degrees now. It would be the only decent snow we've had. so I hope the kids get to enjoy it. Of course it would only last an hour or two as it will be 40 again tomorrow!
